The African National Congress (ANC) has given President Jacob Zuma a period of 48 hours to resign as the President of South Africa or else face the impeachment.
The ruling party’s National Executive Council (NEC) met on Monday in Irene, Pretoria to decide on President Zuma’s fate. According to reports and speculations the ANC had decided to recall the President and ordered him to resign within 48 hours.
ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa and Secretary General were sent to the Presidential house to convey the massage from the party’s executives.
No official communication yet from the ANC at the moment with regards to the much awaited outcomes of the party’s NEC meeting which lasted for more than 13-hours.
The party will hold a media briefing at 14:00 in Lithuli house today to announce on the outcomes of the special NEC meeting.
