Another ANC MP resigns from the party in parliament

The former Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture Rejoice Mabudafhasi has resigned from the African National Congress (ANC) in parliament just a month after she was sacked by President Jacob Zuma in the recent Cabinet reshuffle.

ANC confirms Rejoice Mabudafhasi resignation:

    The Office of the ANC Chief Whip confirms the resignation of former Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture and ANC MP Cde Rejoice Mabudafhasi as a member of parliament effective 30 April 2017.
    Comrade Mabudafhasi who has been a member of parliament since 1994 has served the people of South Africa with great humility and distinction. She has expressed her gratitude in having served the people of South Africa and thanked the ANC for having given her the opportunity to do so.
    On behalf of the ANC in Parliament, we thank comrade Mabudafhasi for her selfless service to the movement as a public representative. We are confident that she will continue serving the movement in other capacities in future.
    We wish her well.
