The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has sent its deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family of the former African National Congress (ANC) Youth League General Secretary Sindiso Magaqa who died on Monday night from gunshots wounds he sustained during a shooting last month in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
In a statement released on Monday, September 4 2017, the party offered their sad and heartfelt condolences to family and friends of Sindiso Magaqa who worked with the party leader Julius Malema during his time the the ANC before being expelled.
“We send our deepest and heartfelt condolences to family and friends of comrade Sindiso Magaqa who passed away after suffering from gun wounds inflicted by those whose aim was to assassinate him for political purposes”. EFF said in a statement published on their twitter account.
“Comrade Sindiso Magaqa was a leader and he demonstrated dedication, love and commitment to the struggle of the oppressed people of South Africa.”
The EFF also condemned the ongoing killings of political leaders in the Province after Magaga was gun down for political reasons.
“The EFF takes this opportunity to call for an end to all political assassinations and killings. Political differences should never degenerate into violence because such will lead to common ruin”. EFF said on the statement
Magaqa was the secretary-general of the youth league until it was disbanded in 2012 after its leadership was found guilty of bringing the ANC into disrepute.
Magaqa was suspended and Julius Malema‚ who was the ANCYL leader at that time and Floyd Shivambu who was the spokesperson of the ANCYL were expelled from the party.
