The former AU Chairperson Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma has been elected as the member of the newly elected National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling party African National Congress (ANC).
The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ANC held its first ordinary meeting following its election at the 54thNational Conference on 18-19 January 2018 in Irene, Tshwane where the new leadership was elected to lead the party in the 2019 elections.

In this gathering the ANC NEC elected the NWC to manage the party day to day matters such as to discipline cadres who violates the party code of conduct and more.
President Jacob Zuma’s ex-wife Dr. Nkosasana Dlamini-Zuma who lost in a party presidential bid to Cyril Ramaphosa has been elected in NWC. The current NWC has powers to discipline any ANC member or deployee in government.
