The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has described Ronnie Mamoepa as a principled and dignified communicator who was not easily captured into justifying factional nonsense.
Mr Ronnie Mamoepa who served as Spokesperson for the Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa died on Saturday night in Pretoria after suffering from stroke.
“His departure is a loss to the Mamoepa family, government, and the country at large.” said the party in its statement of condolences following his passing.
The party said the will remember Ronnie Mamoepa as a principled and dignified communicator who was not easily captured into justifying factional nonsense.
“He was also never caught justifying corruption. He is also the generation of liberation fighters who went to Robin Island very young following the 1976 student uprisings. His contribution in that regard, will also never be erased in our memories.
“May his soul rest in revolutionary and perfect peace!”
Mr Mamoepa (56), a former political prisoner and member of the Gauteng provincial legislature, was a highly regarded and accomplished public servant and veteran communicator who served the African National Congress and various departments in government with distinction.
He died serving the country as as Spokesperson for the Deputy President in the Presidency.

Ronnie Mamoepa was the ideal government communicator. Answered calls, returned calls, followed up on things and was always humble.
