The African National Congress (ANC) in its 54th National Elective Conference has resolved to rejects the Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa (Contralesa) to be a recognized as an active structure of the party.
This came after Contralesa (South African traditional leaders group) wrote to the governing party requesting to join the party as an official league of the ANC from now going forward.
ANC Plenary Committee chairperson on Constitutional Ammendments Dr Mathole Motshekga announced that theparty will not allow Contralesa to form party as the League of the ANC because the traditional leaders represented citizens regardless of their political affiliations.
