Umkhonto we Sizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA) drops the Former African National Congress (ANC) Youth League leader Fikile Mbalula from their list of preferred ANC Top-Seven candidates.
Fikile Mbalula featured in the Association’s top seven list of the ANC’s top structure as the second deputy alongside the General Secretary, Free State Province Premier Ace Makgashule and Deputy General Secretary Jessie Duarte.
This follows Mbalula’s tweets against Ace Makgashule:
Mabalula tweeted “Ace Magashule a definite no no no the man will finish what is remaining of our movement he will kill it inffect.

The MKMVA announced today that it has dropped the name of Mbalula Fikile from its “preferred slate”.
The MKMVA slate is not different from the one presented by the ANCYL, except the exclusion of ANC NEC member Fikile Mbalula
“We support him actually, but his name was dropped” said MKMVA President Kebby Maphatsoe
Maphatsoe says the organisation wants Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma to take over from president Jacob Zuma as president in December with Mpumalanga Premier David Mabuza deputizing.
Maphatsoe says Mbalula was never proposed by the organisation. He says Mbalula is however a good cadre
The former struggle liberation movement will go for its National Congress this December in Gauteng, the new president and ANC top six structure will be selected by the collective of party branches.
Mbalula is likely to suffer support for his ANC-Top-6 ambition if both MKMVA and ANCYL drop him from their preferred candidates list, the same way as to what happened in 2012 ANC Mangaung Conference were he was defeated by Gwede Mantashe for the party General Secretary position.
