EFF Leader Julius Malema said anyone who has resumed the position of Finance minister has been captured by white monopoly capital; he then said Former Finance Ministers, Trevor Manuel and Nhlanhla Nene were also captured, he added the whole African National Congress (ANC) is captured and there is no way to rescue it.

“Whichever side you look, the ANC is captured. It is not in the hands of the people. The ANC is captured by Black corrupt capital and white monopoly capital. There’s no messiah to rescue the ANC,” said Malema.

The EFF on Monday held a media briefing following their Central Command Team meeting, where he also touched on Gordhan’s battle with the Hawks.

Malema questioned why the Minister has refused to meet with the Hawks and also said Gordhan thinks he is “untouchable and he exploits the markets’ reaction when he is touched.

“It’s not about Pravin, it’s about respecting the Hawks. If he doesn’t respect them why should we? Why is Pravin refusing to see the Hawks? Why is he behaving like he’s untouchable? You don’t correct wrong with wrong,” said Malema.

“Pravin undermines conscience because he’s not scared of anything. He’s untouchable. If you touch him the markets react,” Malema added.

He then reiterated and said: “We can’t have a minister that is appointed by markets. You are eroding the power of the presidency and political leadership. Whether you’re guilty or not, respecting institutions is far bigger than all of us. If you’re called, you must go”.
