The leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Julius Malema has given a free and friendly advise to the former Joburg Mayor Parks Tau.
Malema advised Parks Tau to forget about being a Joburg Mayor again.
“One thing Parks Tau should get very clear is that he will not be a Mayor of joburg again, our respect and friendliness to Paul Mashatile should not be confused for anything.” said Malema on Twitter.
“Maybe someone from our generation and not now perhaps in future, I can’t commit.”
The comments comes after the African National Congress (ANC) in Johannesburg has asked for motion of no confidence against City of Johannesburg Mayor Herman Mashaba and DA speaker Vasco da Gama in the city council, the move aims to restore Tau’s charges.
The ANC said on Wednesday that it is confident of the EFF support in the motion to oust Mashaba from the Mayoral position in the ‘City Gold’.
On Thursday, the EFF said it will not support any motion put forward by the ANC in its current state saying the oldest liberation movement in the country cannot be trusted.
The ANC need the backing of the EFF to regain the three major metros it lost in last year’s local elections in 2016.
Mashaba has the backing of Vavi:
The things I appreciated about #MayorMashaba. He reemployed workers dismissed by Midrand council for standing against corruption, outsourced Pickitup, announced that he will insource all security, employed General Sibiya who was hounded by captured Hawks to clean corruption, etc

DA’s #HandsOffMashaba campaign:
It’s baffles that the mind that the most corrupt political party since 1994 wants to remove two of South Africa’s most hardworking and honest @Our_DA Mayors @AtholT and @HermanMashaba #HandsOffTrollip #HandsOffMashaba pic.twitter.com/UzFxtddgUn

This is why South Africans are united behind Mayor @HermanMashaba.

This motion of no confidence rubbish is exactly what is wrong with our politics. 40% unemployment & people have time to play. Leave the man to finish his term the way his predecessors were allowed, then judge him on his result. #HandsOffMashaba
